Supplies You’ll Need:
- White cardstock
- Five colors of washable paint
- Paintbrush
- Green pipe cleaners
- Brown and yellow construction paper
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun or strong craft glue
How to Make the Handprint Flower Bouquet:
1. Paint and print
Using the paintbrush, coat your child’s hand with one color of paint at a time. Stamp the hand onto white cardstock. Repeat this process with different colors until you have five handprints.
2. Cut out the handprints
Once the paint is dry, cut out each handprint carefully. Leave a small white border around each one to help them stand out and add a clean finish.
3. Attach the stems
Glue a green pipe cleaner to the back of each handprint to create flower stems. You can bend the pipe cleaners slightly to give them a natural look.
4. Create the flower pot
Cut a pot shape out of brown construction paper and glue it to the bottom half of a yellow sheet. Leave the top of the pot unglued to form a pocket.
5. Assemble the bouquet
Tuck the handprint flowers into the pot pocket. Arrange them so the colors show nicely. You can secure them in place with glue if desired.
6. Add a message
Write “Happy Mother’s Day” or your own personal message at the bottom of the yellow paper.
