Supplies You’ll Need

  • Colored cardstock
  • White cardstock (for the background)
  • Glue stick
  • Marker or pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Trace and cut your vase

Use a marker or pencil to draw the shape of a vase on your colored cardstock. Cut it out carefully with scissors. This will be the base of your artwork.

2. Glue the vase to the background

Using a glue stick, attach the vase cutout to the center of your white cardstock sheet.

3. Paint the flower stems

Dip your paintbrush in green paint and draw stems starting from inside the vase, extending upward. These will be the base for your flowers.

4. Make your flower stamp

Take a small piece of cardstock, roll it into a tight loop, and secure the edge. This will act as a flower petal stamp.

5. Stamp your petals

Dip the edge of the rolled cardstock into your paint, then press it around the tops of each stem to create colorful flower petals.

Celebrate Spring with Creativity

Once your paint is dry, display your flower vase art on the fridge, in the classroom, or as a handmade gift. Kids will love the stamping technique, and you’ll love how easy it is to clean up.
